Red Dog’s Athlete of the Month for September 2014. Well done!!!

 1: Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

Very surprised, shocked, very lucky to be given the honour of Red Dog AOTM.

2: What attracted you to the squad?

I knew Trent from Swimfit, but never thought I would be good enough to join his triathlon squadA friend of mine had been training with Red Dog for a few months so I decided to give it a go. Best thing I could have done.

3: If you were Red Dog coach for the week, what would you do differently?

Well not a great deal, just look at the athletes we haveour coach has it under controlMaybe the 5k time trial along the gravel track at the uni so I don't have to count lapsjust out and back.

4: How much training do you do at the moment?

Since Ben and James joined Red Dog my training has increased from 2 sessions to up to 8 sessions a weekThe goal is to do at least 2 swims, 2 runs and 2 rides a weekI have also discovered the Monday morning yoga to be a fantastic start to my week.

5: Least favourite session and why?

Long ride on a Saturday- I hate trucks.....

6: If you had one wish, what would it be?

To live a long and healthy life, and be the best I can be.

7: Favourite motivational quote?

All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. - Walt Disney

8: What advice would you give to other Red Dogs who would like to be AOTM?

Just keep trying your bestPeople do noticeIt’s a wonderful reward.

9: What are your goals?

To do my first Olympic distance tri in under 3hrs.

10: Who would be your ideal training partner?

I already have the ideal training partnersThere is so much encouragement and advice in our squadI always have someone to chase or stay in front ofWhat more could I ask for?

11: What do you do outside of triathlons?

Apart from working part time and having 3 teenage boys and the Bike Sherpa (my husband) to look after, I enjoy a nice glass of red wine on the weekend while sitting in the sun and relaxing.

11: What's your one guilty pleaure? 

Chocolate....and more chocolate.
