Congratulations to Andrew Marsden for being selected as Red Dog's Athlete of the Month for August 2023.

Andrew wins this month's award for knocking over three races in three days at the Townsville Multisport Festival while taking an Age Group win in the final race on Sunday.

A big thank you to our sponsors for donating this month’s prizes.

1.Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

To be honest, it's long overdue! I took out the Tweed Sprint, Bribie Tri and Tour de BNE Duathlon and got crickets from you Trent!!!!

2. When did you join the club?

I am not sure when I joined but what attracted me to the club was my wife is always training there so it's nice to catch up with her!!!

3. How much training do you do at the moment?

Courtney (wife) is on program for Kona so I'm just trying to alternate a swim, bike, run during the week along with boxing...

4. What’s your favourite session and why?

My favourite session that I attended was the Yeronga brick session, it was like doing a race.... loved it!!

5. If you were RDTT Coach for a day, what would you do?

I would change Triathlon (3xlegs) to Quadathlon (4 legs) starting with boxing.. I would break a few ribs first and finally beat some Reddogs in a race!!! (Damo, I still remember you taking my Bribie Tri clean sweep away from me!!!)

6. Favourite motivational quote?

I have two.... First "They've have done studies, you know. Sixty percent of the time, it works every time" (Brian Fantana, Anchorman) second "One day or day one: you decide" author unknown.

7. The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is…

First goal is to get through the training and race injury free... you want to be able to continue training post-race!!

8. What’s your next event?

QTS Raby Bay Super Spint- I still need to get my QTS Gold Medal (3 silvers on the wall doesn't look right)

 9. What do you do outside of training?

Boxing twice a week

10. What’s your one guilty pleasure?

Family block of chocolate, then open the second block.
