ATHLETE OF THE MONTH – AUGUST 2022
TRISTAN TAYLOR

Congratulations to Tristan Taylor for being selected as Red Dog’s Athlete of the Month for August 2022.

Tristan wins this months award for his performance at Bridge 2 Brisbane, his positive attitude and commitment to training while adjusting to life with a new born baby. Well done!

A big thank you to our sponsors for donating this month’s prizes.

1.Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

It’s taken four long years of training for Redman to finally give me the nod, so it feels like I’m finally making something of myself.

2. What attracted you to the club?

I joined Reddog in 2018 for the quality training, the camaraderie of a great group of people and perks of the Reddog Dating App!

3. How much training do you do at the moment?

Three runs a week where I can fit them around dad duties.

4. What’s your favourite session and why?

Definitely love running fast on track Tuesday to start my day. Maximum bang for your buck.

 5. Who’s your ideal training partner and why?

That would have to be Lucy Whyte! An incredible athlete, always up for an adventure, keeps me honest and more often than not kicks my butt.

6. Favourite motivational quote?

“Boomzies” - Andy Small, Stradbroke Island 2022.

This can be used to fire up for a big event, used after winning a race or when dropping a winning hand on a board game!

7. The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is…

Enjoy the training and the process, it’s not always about the end result but the journey to get there that you will get the most reward from!

8. What’s your next event?

Noosa Triathlon 2022! Is it possible to run well off no swim/bike training? Asking for a friend…

9. What do you do outside of training?

Part time dentist, part time D grade TV fishing celebrity, full time optimist and just a regular guy trying to be the best dad I can be.

10. What’s your one guilty pleasure?

Having a beer in the shower with 6 of my closest mates (you know who you are Big Cats ;))
