August Athlete of the Month 2011 - Hayden Flouch

Reddog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

Being a very shy and quiet person I wasn't sure if Trent even noticed me at training sessions, finally all my hard work has paid off, very happy.

What attracted you to the sport of triathlon?

I was training with Trent for Masters pool swimming and being surrounded by Triathletes curiosity got the better of me and I eventually caved.

If you were Reddog coach for the week, what would you do differently?

I haven't seen a Wednesday night dinner at KFC yet....

How much training do you do at the moment?

I try to make most of the squad sessions - about 7-8 sessions a week plus Wednesday coffee & Thursday breakfast

Least favourite session and why?

I wouldn't say least favourite but I find the running sessions the hardest, my right butt cheek gets a beating every time I get passed.

If you had one wish, what would it be?

To be able to eat without putting on weight!

Favourite motivational quote?

GAME ON!!

What advice would you give to other Reddogs who would like to be AOTM?

Keep it fun.

What are your goals?

Next goal is to improve on last years Noosa result.

Who would be your ideal training partner?

I enjoy training with most of the squad members but find Bretto Sweeney very inspirational. I love when he drops used CO2 canisters down the back of my knicks to help me train at my maximum!!
