 Michelle Perry - AOTM Sept2012

Reddog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

Absolutely blown away and amazed. Thank you so much.

What attracted you to the squad?

The fact that the squad caters for all levels of ability and has a great social side to it as well.

If you were Reddog coach for the week, what would you do differently?

Have training sessions where you don’t have to swim or run around in ‘circles’ – I’m more of a free range triathlete

How much training do you do at the moment?

About 11 sessions a week - 3 swim sessions, 2 run sessions, 2 ride sessions, 1 brick and the obligatory strength and flexibility workouts

Least favourite session and why?

Running at the track on Tuesday morning - running around in circles drives me nuts

If you had one wish, what would it be?

To have the opportunity to do some regular open water swimming in crystal clear ocean water like I was doing in Jervis Bay on the south coast of NSW before I moved to Brisbane

Favourite motivational quote?

Try and fail but don’t fail to try

What advice would you give to other Reddogs who would like to be AOTM?

You don’t have to be the fastest or the best triathlete to become AOTM – there is hope for those of us towards the back of the pack!!

What are your goals?

To keep improving and hopefully make the Aussie sprint distance team for the world championships in London next year before my 40th birthday

Who would be your ideal training partner?

Would have to be Bretto – he keeps you entertained and amused, is a great motivator and is able to cook up a storm producing excellent after training treats or should we say culinary rewards for our hard work.
