ATHLETE OF THE MONTH – MARCH 2022
SCOTT MILSON

Congratulations to Scott Milson for being selected as Red Dog’s Athlete of the Month for March 2022.

Scott wins this month’s award for winning his age group at the Bribie Island Triathlon and cracking the top 20 overall. Well done!

A big thank you to our sponsors for donating this month’s prizes.

1.Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

Honoured. There’s some great athletes in the club smashing it.

2. What attracted you to the club?

Depth of coaching and squad. My wife Jacqui was swimming with the squad a few years back and really enjoyed it. I knew it was set up really well and took the opportunity to join when I moved to the City with work.

3. How much training do you do at the moment?

As much as I can get away with! That’s probably around 1-2 hours a day. I try to attend a few key training sessions per week- 2 swim squads and 1 athletics track.

4. What’s your favourite session and why?

Track on a Tues morning. Ideal for working on pace and form. There’s a good bunch of runners to motivate you. No where to hide on the track.

 5. Who’s your ideal training partner and why?

Kirk. We’re same age, ability and back ground. He brings a positive attitude to the sessions and we push each other. Looking forward to another Raby Bay rumble.

6. Favourite motivational quote?

‘Got to be in it to win it.’ Perhaps a phrase rather than a quote. You have to give it a crack.

7. The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is…

Don’t overtrain.

8. What’s your next event?

Probably Moreton Bay in May. My parents are  flying in from Scotland in a few weeks so I think it’s going to be a busy couple of months.

9. What do you do outside of training?

Mostly run around after my 3 year old and empty the dishwasher.

10. What’s your one guilty pleasure?

Beer and chocolate. Everyone’s got to have a couple of vices.
