1.           Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

Extremely surprised, there's a lot of great athletes getting around in the club so it's very humbling to be chosen, thanks so much.

2.           What attracted you to the club?

The great calibre of athletes providing an excellent yard stick at each session, particularly track Tuesday, definitely looking forward to getting back to them pre Noosa.

3.           How much training do you do at the moment?

I've had a short 3 week break since Mooloolaba and am now going to try and make a runner of myself so will be aiming at 5/6 runs a week over winter, plus a ride and a swim to keep those two skills in check.

4.           Least favourite session and why?

Some sessions on the Lemond Windtrainer aren't that enjoyable, however they are extremely beneficial.

5.           If you had one wish, what would it be?

That my two young fellas Max and Jackson enjoy a healthy and happy life.

 6.           Favourite motivational quote?

Rocky Balboa: "You ain't gonna believe this, but you used to fit right here.  I'd hold you up to say to your mother, "this kid's gonna be the best kid in the world. This kid's gonna be somebody better than anybody I ever knew." And you grew up good and wonderful. It was great just watching you, every day was like a privilege. Then the time come for you to be your own man and take on the world, and you did. But somewhere along the line, you changed. You stopped being you. You let people stick a finger in your face and tell you you're no good. And when things got hard, you started looking for something to blame, like a big shadow. Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that! I'm always gonna love you no matter what. No matter what happens. You're my son and you're my blood. You're the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, ya ain't gonna have a life"

7.           The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is…

Build up slowly, going in all guns blazing will get you injured and you'll last 12 months in the sport.

8.           My next race is…

My next goal race is Brisbane Half Marathon in August, followed by Sunny Coast 70.3.

9.         I couldn’t do what I do without…

My wife's continued support, she's an amazing human, the backbone of our family. and the cheers from my boys.

10.       What do you do outside of triathlons?

Spending time with my wife and two young boys, i also enjoy watching AFL, especially the mighty Port Power.

11.       What’s your one guilty pleasure?

Fruit loops and chocolate (not together)
