ATHLETE OF THE MONTH – DECEMBER 2015

 AOTM IsaacPerry

Congratulations to Isaac Perry on being selected as Red Dog’s Athlete of the Month for December 2015.   Well done !!!

Isaac takes out this month's award for his commitment to training and his massive PB at Busselton Ironman.

A big thank you to Endura, No More Knots, Tropicare, Aqua Shop and Mizuno for donating this months’ prizes.

1.           Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

I'm really stoked and surprised! It's been great training with the squad leading into Busselton Ironman and I couldn't be happier with my result. Training with the squad differently gave me the extra push I needed.

2.           What attracted you to the club?

I grew up swimming at Yeronga pool and moved back to the area. It was the right time for me. I wasn't getting the results I wanted.

3.           How much training do you do at the moment?

Well I just had a week off for Christmas and New Years but will be back into 7 days a week again in January.

4.           Least favourite session and why?

Swim session, because growing up swimming twice a day turned me off it a bit.

5.           If you had one wish, what would it be?

Live a happy life with a big family. And race in Kona!

6.           Favourite motivational quote?

"Don't watch the clock; do what it does and keep going!" Sam Levenson

7.           The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is… something I was told - at some point during your race look around and take it in, enjoy it.

8.           My next race is… Ironman Australia

9.           I couldn’t do what I do without… my partner and family, always supporting me.

10.       What do you do outside of triathlons?

Mostly work, I have a family food business. We cook all the American classic soul food. When I'm not working I will still be cooking, I do love to cook!

11.       What’s your one guilty pleasure?

I would have to say chips, fried chips, potato chips, corn chips.
