January Athlete of the Month 2011 - Brett Sellars

Reddog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

There's been too many pretty boy's getting it, it’s about time someone from the engine room gets appreciated... (only joking I'm stoked.)

What attracted you to the sport of triathlon?

I got into triathlon through my brother in law Benny Mac; I saw how much fun he was having and joined a team with him at Noosa a few years back. And he does like to upgrade his equipment if you haven't noticed.... so I pick up heaps of freebies.

If you were Reddog coach for the week, what would you do differently?

If I was coach for a day I would probably call a day off and go surfing the waves

How much training do you do at the moment?

I am currently training between 12 and 15 hours a week but that all goes out the window with night shift

Least favourite session and why?

Saturday morning time trialing with Bek Keat... I’ve been dropped more times then Simone Warne in that session

If you had one wish, what would it be?

My one wish would be to stay healthy

Favourite motivational quote?

Success is my only mother f**k'n option  (M&M)

What advice would you give to other Reddogs who would like to be AOTM?

Be the only silly bugger who'll race for 5 hours then hop in a car and drive for 8 hours with 25 bikes in the back while all my mates are getting trashed......

What are your goals?

My goals are to stay healthy and to hang onto Nashy's wheel as long as possible (after getting lapped of course)

Who would be your ideal training partner?

My ideal training partner would be Nashy. Great to watch the master do his thing and great trash talk
