Reddog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

I am very proud because it signals that I finally have got the balance back with training. It has been really hard adapting back to working full time at Deloitte since racing professionally. I think support from a few of the guys helped too.

What attracted you to the sport of triathlon?

I saw an aquathlon down at Glenelg in Adelaide about 8 years ago and thought it looked like fun. That was on Sunday by Monday I was training twice a day.

If you were Reddog coach for the week, what would you do differently?

Coaching is a hard task, so I take my hat off to Trent. I would probably switch swimming to the morning because I find that I can only do it when I’m half asleep. It’s easier to clock the kms in the pool when you don’t realize what you are doing until half way through when you finally wake up.

How much training do you do at the moment?

I am doing quite a lot of riding at the moment in prep for some races with the Pure Tasmania and Deloitte TIS cycling team. I promise it is a far cry from the old average week of 30, 400, 700!

Least favourite session and why?

Not sure, I have a good time at all sessions, especially when it involves coffee afterwards. These days I wouldn’t go if I didn’t enjoy it.

If you had one wish, what would it be?

Once you hit race fitness, weight etc you get to keep it forever.

What advice would you give to other Reddogs who would like to be AOTM?

Secret to triathlon is consistency and application.

What are your goals?

My goals at the moment are centered around having fun and staying fit.
